What are Behaviour Consultation Services?

In this service, one of our experienced behaviour consultants who has the skills to provide individualized services is assigned to a group home or community living agency in order to support a child or adult with special needs (e.g., Autism, FASD, Intellectual Disability).

What types of services can a Behaviour Consultant provide?

Our behaviour consultants have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and provide a wide range of services that include:

• Behavioural assessments for the challenging behaviour (e.g., aggression)
• Writing a behaviour support plan (BSP)
• Creating a safety plan and crisis prevention protocols
• Training group home managers and support staff on plan implementation

How do the Behaviour Consultation Services work?

Our process begins with an intake meeting in which we gain a thorough understanding of the resident’s unique circumstances and support needs. Next, we use the information gathered during the meeting to create a plan that is easy to follow and based on realistic outcomes.

Who can benefit from Behaviour Consultation Services?

This service is for any group home or residential care team that oversees care for a person with special needs and requires an experienced behaviour consultant to provide consultation services on a regular or occasional basis. Our behaviour consultants work in a variety of settings with parents, family members, school administrators, and group residence managers to support persons with special needs.
